TO BENEFIT THE JEWISH MUSEUM ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15
NEW YORK, NY - On Tuesday evening, December 15, 2009, The Jewish Museum will present its fifteenth annual Family Hanukkah Party from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. This special event, which benefits The Jewish Museum, will include many activities especially suited for grandparents, parents, and children up to age 10. Party attendees will enjoy: magic by Magic-Al Garber; balloon art by The Mad Hatters and The Ballooniacs; music by Laughing Pizza; face painting by New York Fun Factory; family photos by Sarah Merians Photography; Hanukkah hairstyles by Cozy’s Cuts for Kids; and a buffet dinner and dessert. Arts and crafts workshops and games throughout the Museum will round out the event.
Co-chairs Ray and Ross Hammerman, Jacqueline Harris Hochberg and Robert J. Hochberg, and Sharon Coplan Hurowitz and Richard Hurowitz have been involved in planning a lively evening to benefit The Jewish Museum’s educational programs and exhibitions. Generous support has been provided by The Hain Celestial Group.
Tickets range from $75 for an individual child and $150 for an individual adult (children under 2 are admitted free), to $500, $1,000, $1,500 and $2,500 for various packages. Ticket information may be obtained by calling 212.423.3264.
Families will be bringing unwrapped gifts for children in need, which will be donated to a charity.
Hanukkah commemorates the miraculous events and heroic deeds that occurred in ancient Israel during a desperate war for Jewish religious and political freedom. The eight-day festival is observed this year beginning at sundown on Friday, December 11.
