Technology, Art Making, and Other Primary Structures

Lizabeth Arum, Director of Project Based Learning Lab at Special Project Office and Computer Science Teacher at Saint Ann’s School, and Joseph Weissgold, interdisciplinary designer, educator and candidate for Masters in Design at the School of Visual Arts, will lead a hands-on workshop incorporating 3D printing and digital fabrication techniques to investigate patterns underlying the construction and meaning of artworks in conjunction with the exhibition Other Primary Structures.

Arum has spent more than two and a half years helping educators harness the potential of 3D technologies at Makerbot Industries and the Makerbot Foundation.

Art and Text: A Morning for Educators

Join us for a special morning exploring the intersection of language and visual representation. The workshop will include hands-on art projects and guided visits to the special exhibition, Mel Bochner: Strong Language.

Specialized Workshops for Schools
Gallery and studio workshops can be created for educators from a specific school. These workshops introduce teachers to exhibitions and explore strategies for integrating art into classroom curricula. Themes include Archaeology and Ancient Civilizations, Identity, Objects as Primary Sources, Materials in Art and more.
