Summer Studio






Summer Studio classes offer middle and high school students the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media and acquire innovative studio art skills in a museum environment. Drawing inspiration from The Jewish Museum’s exhibitions, students discuss ideas, experiment with materials and create their own works of art.

High School: 2:00–5:00 pm


Contemporary artist Kehinde Wiley’s vibrant large-scale paintings serve as inspiration for the creation of personal, mixed media portraits. Drawing from the special exhibition Kehinde Wiley / The World Stage: Israel participants examine identity, tradition and self-expression.

City as Muse
August 6–9
Middle School: 10:00 am–12:30 pm
High School: 2:00–4:30 PM


Inspired by his friends and his environment, French painter Edouard Vuillard painted 20th-century Paris and the people who inhabited it. Using the exhibition Edouard Vuillard: A Painter and His Muses, 1890-1940 as inspiration, take to the streets of New York, reinterpreting the cultural life of your own city through drawing, painting and collage.
