Camels and Caravans: Daily Life in Ancient Israel

September 09, 2001 - June 20, 2004

Introduction

Camels and Caravans: Daily Life in Ancient Israel is an exhibition for children that draws upon the Museum's renowned collection of art and archaeology. Take a journey back in time to the 1st century CE, as you imagine what it was like to live in Jerusalem. Prepare ancient recipes and dine in a reproduction of a Roman home. Then visit the marketplace, where you can weave on a loom, try on ancient costumes, and make an artifact to bring home. This engaging experience illuminates the art and cultural treasures of The Jewish Museum.

Camels and Caravans: Daily Life in Ancient Israel is made possible by a generous grant from The Gloria and Sidney Danziger Foundation.
