$content='The Jewish Museum\'s popular SummerNights series is an annual program of video screenings and live music that take place Thursday evenings during July and August. The Museum features screenings of favorite classic TV shows from the collection of the Museum\'s National Jewish Archive of Broadcasting.
Every week, different musicians perform jazz, pop, and world music. A diverse selection of summer drinks, pastries, salads and sandwiches, as well as wine and beer, are available for purchase in Café Weissman, the Museum\'s kosher gourmet café. All of the Museum\'s exhibitions remain open until 9 pm. Admission to SummerNights is "Pay What You Wish" from 5 to 9 pm on Thursday evenings.

This year, television sitcoms, dramas and documentaries will be continuously screened in a series inspired by the Museum\'s currents special exhibition Entertaining America: Jews, Movies, and Broadcasting. Each week\'s screenings will explore specific themes such as New York Jews in the 90s, televisions\'s treatment of anti-Semitism and racism, Jews in the entertainment industry, and the Blacklist.
Highlights include a recently acquired video of Head of the Family, the 1960 pilot for The Dick Van Dyke Show starring Carl Reiner in the role of Rob Petrie; two 1954 broadcasts from Edward R. Murrow\'s See It Now that contributed to the downfall of Senator Joseph McCarthy; and two NBC specials featuring Mel Brooks as the 2,000-Year-Old-Man. Two evenings will explore Your Show of Shows and the works of television writers who got their start with that classic series, and one evening will feature several episodes of the popular 1950s series,The Goldbergs.
