The Purim Soirée was inspired by the upcoming exhibition, Edouard Vuillard: A Painter and His Muses, 1890-1940. Israeli-born artist Izhar Patkin transformed the Waldorf-Astoria Grand Ballroom into an all-inclusive environment reflecting the Belle Époque and the beautiful work of Edouard Vuillard. By spreading patterns of stippled light throughout the room, where it washed over bodies and walls, Patkin made real what he had imagined—the feeling of being inside a Vuillard painting. The music of Forro in the Dark and DJ Vladi kept the mood spirited and fun.
The virtual journal features images from the exhibition, with tributes from those who so generously helped make the gala a great success.
