		In Hotel and Farm, which has been appearing in the Forward since 2000, the narrative switches weekly between urban and rural environments. At hotels in the fictional Echoic City, every private moment has the potential to become public spectacle. No longer symbolizing the rural heartland, the farms at the city’s edge cater to the frozen and canned-food market.
