Explore the crazy world of lovable artist Maira Kalman and discover her playful paintings of dogs with hats, musical instruments, marvelous maps and colorful buttons in this special Art Adventure Mondays series. Come hear readings from her children’s books, sketch and play games in the galleries.

July 11 - Painted Cakes & Rubberbands - Everyday Objects & Food
Create a favorite food drawing, a personal story about an object, a scene of everyday things such as buttons and rubberbands, and hear Kalman's book, What Pete Ate from A to Z.
July 18 - I Love New York
Draw your favorite things to do in NYC, design a map with tape, hunt for places, and hear Kalman's book, Next Stop Grand Central.
July 25 - Max, Pete, and Maira
Act out characters, play color games, draw a portrait and hear Kalman's book, 13 Words.

July 11 - Collected Treasure Boxes
Create a treasure box for the objects you love or to store various collected items using collage and drawing.
July 18 - Colorful Fabric Maps
Create a map by collaging and sewing together various fabrics then draw in details with fabric markers.
July 25 - Cut Paper Portraits
Using cut papers create a portrait of someone you care about or admire.
