Join us for "A Theresienstadt Bracelet," a virtual lecture led by Morris & Eva Feld Senior Curator, Claudia Nahson. In this talk, learn about the hidden meanings of a unique charm bracelet in the Jewish Museum Collection assembled by Holocaust survivor Greta Perlman (1904 - 1975) in Thereisenstadt, a camp-ghetto in the former Czechoslovakia that held prisoners between 1941 and 1945.

Over 140,000 Jews were deported there by the Nazis, including many artists and writers who struggled to maintain a vibrant cultural life. Despite horrific conditions, Perlman was able to gather the twenty charms and badges assembled into her bracelet, each steeped in personal memories. Learn how art can be a source of creative and spiritual resistance, even in the darkest times.

Please RSVP to confirm your attendance. We hope to see you there!
